I have been serving international professional services organisations as a business development professional for over 25 years including both accounting firms and law firms (Coopers& Lybrand, Clifford Chance, DLA Piper and since 2004 at Noerr) always in a regional (CEE) role. At the heart of my remit have been two main challenges throughout my career: regional integration of the business development function to prove this is or can be a driving force of practice management; and, introducing, developing and sustaining best practices through professionalization of BD.
