Richard Macklin

Richard, an English solicitor and French avocat, is Global Client Partner and Global Vice Chair of Dentons, the world’s largest law firm.

He leads many of the firm’s most successful client relationships and was part of the small leadership team that took the business from the 164th to the largest in the world in less than 5 years, winning the International Law Firm of the Year award from The Lawyer magazine and most Innovative Law Firm from the Financial Times.

Richard has been stationed in New York, Brussels and Paris, has headed the firm’s M&A department as well as a number of its international offices, and worked extensively in Africa, India, China and Latin America. He is an M&A specialist and has over 30 years’ experience advising some of the world's largest multinational groups and funds in the development of their domestic and international strategies.

An active promoter of diversity and inclusion in the board room and a qualified executive coach. He sits on a number of advisory and charitable boards, speaks on strategy and innovation around the world, and is passionate about encouraging a growth mindset in all those he meets.
